Slingshot Esports After School Gaming Expereince

Overview

Seeing the need to assist gaming kids in building positive relationships in a safe haven gaming community where they can grow socially and spiritually instead of playing in isolation and in heavily toxic environments, Slingshot Esports is delighted to offer a biblically grounded after school onsite gaming experience tailored specifically for students ages 10-16.

Goals

Specifications

Slingshot Esports facilitates three sessions, referred to as "seasons," that span five consecutive weeks. Each week features a two hour event. Students may participate in one, two, or all of three seasons. The dates for each season are outlined below for reference.

Each two hour event consists of open gaming, an optional challenge/tournament, and a talk about how gaming translates into the real world.

During each event, the students will be guided by a dedicated mentor during the event, learn and develop in-game skills, be encouraged as they play, and practice demonstrating character and good sportsmanship.

To ensure a high quality experience, event registration is closed once registrations reach 20 students. A waitlist will be formed, if necessary.

All events are held on Monday afternoons from 4p to 6p at the Slingshot Esports Gaming Center. A snack and drink will be provided.

Each game has an ESRB rating of “T” or lower. Students are allowed to bring their own devices, games, gear and use their own accounts at their discretion and risk.

Each Slingshot Esports leader holds valid FBI and PA Child Abuse clearances.

Transportation to and from the Gaming Center will be provided by the parents/guardians.
