Next Level: Reaching New Realms — The Story Behind the Mission
God has opened a new door for Slingshot Esports, a door we didn't expect. Leaders, youth pastors, and parents in Lehighton and Carbon County have been watching the impact of our current gaming center, and one message has been repeated again and again:
“We need Slingshot here.”
Students in this area are facing significant challenges:
High rates of after-school isolation
Nearly 20% of children living below the poverty level
Limited positive spaces for students to gather, connect, and feel safe
Local leaders are concerned and they are eager for a ministry that can meet both the physical and spiritual needs of their youth.
Nicole, director at St. Peter’s Community Resource Center, shared:
“We are so limited on activities that keep kids out of trouble, and I believe this could help a lot. I am excited to see what positive changes it brings to the area.”
Slingshot Esports uses gaming, students’ real-world passion, to build positive relationships that are rooted in Christian values. Our gaming center becomes the place where students who feel alone find belonging, where meaningful conversations happen naturally, and where faith becomes real in everyday life.
Pastor Mike Coulson put it simply:
“There is a physical need and spiritual hunger in this area that a locally based gaming center would have a huge impact on meeting!”
We aren’t expanding just because a region is asking.
We’re expanding because Scripture calls us to go.
This initiative is our way of stepping faithfully into the Great Commission and creating a space where discipleship happens naturally through relationships built around the games students already love.
Launching the Lehighton center requires preparing the space, equipping it with gaming stations, creating relational environments, and building it with excellence from day one.
Why the investment?
Because doing it right the first time saves money later and because this center is designed for long-term sustainability. After launch, it will maintain itself and eventually help multiply future locations.
And God is already moving: Jon and BEI Electrical have stepped forward to provide power upgrades, cabling, labor, and more—literally powering the entire center.
Your generosity will help launch a center where students are seen, known, and loved and where they encounter Jesus in a way that feels natural, relational, and real.
You can help us reach the next level.
Together, we can open the doors at Slingshot Lehighton Hub.
